Oktibbeha Audubon Society Meetings and Programs

Meeting Dates: The Oktibbeha Audubon Society meets on the second Thursday of the month from September to April. The May meeting is usually a picnic.

February 11: Charlotte Fuqay will present a program on Recylcing; Update on the availability of recycling in Starkville and surrounding area; where, what and how to participate. Charlotte taught in biological sciences at MSU for 15 years.

March 11: Roger Smith will present a program on Poor Man's Nature Photography showing us his gear and photos. Rather than using an expensive SLR camera and lenses, Roger uses a compact Canon S5 IS zoom camera with several accessories to make outstanding photos. You can see his photos here

April 8: Judy Howle will give a slideshow presentation of images from her trips to the Smoky Mountains featuring scenery and wildlife from Cades Cove. Judy is a landscape and nature photographer from Columbus. She has exhibited at the Rosenzweig Arts Center and teaches digital photography classes in Columbus.

Meeting Information:

Time: The board meeting begins at 6 p.m. Anyone may attend or bring a relevant issue to the attention of the board.

The monthly meeting begins at 7 p.m. A short business meeting precedes the presentation of a speaker. After the meeting we usually have refreshments.

The meeting is held in at Clay Lyle Entomology Building on the MSU campus. See map below.

Special Meetings:

The May meeting is the annual chapter picnic. Each person brings a dish to share.

The December meeting is when plans for the annual Noxubee Christmas Count are finalized.
